Results from a multinational survey on patient pain
The results of the survey showed an overwhelming, statistically significant preference for dressings with Safetac technology. 93% of patients preferred dressings with Safetac technology because they hurt less at dressing removal.

Objectives
Pain at dressing removal is a commonly acknowledged issue for patients. Mölnlycke Health Care sponsored this peer-reviewed survey to
1) determine how severe the pain actually is and
2) concretely identify any differences between advanced dressings when it comes to pain at dressing changes.
Questions
3034 patients from 20 countries and with a variety of wound types were interviewed. Over two visits, each patient was asked
1) what difference they noticed, if any, in pain between advanced dressings with traditional adhesives and Mepilex® wound dressings? and consequently
2) which type of dressing did they prefer?
Methodology
During the first visit, pain scores were noted during removal of the dressings patients were originally treated with. A Mepilex or Mepilex Border dressing with Safetac ® technology was applied to the wound. During the second visit, the Mepilex dressing was removed and pain scores noted again.
