As a leader in the healthcare sector, Mölnlycke Health Care feels a strong sense of commitment to both the medical profession and patients receiving treatment. By donating time, products and funds, we help improve the lives of patients and support those who care for them. Working within the community in this way also enables our business and the organisations we support to remain sustainable.
Our primary global charity partner is Operation Smile, a medical volunteer organisation that provides free cleft lip and cleft palate repair surgery for children born with facial deformities. Through the Operation Smile Volunteer Program, our employees can join Operation Smile medical missions and help restore smiles in different parts of the world.
We are also proud to support DEBRA (external link, opens in a new window), a charity working on behalf of people with the genetic skin blistering condition epidermolysis bullosa (EB). DEBRA provides specialist EB nursing, funds extensive medical research, and provides counselling, welfare, respite, and advocacy.
The water we drink
Also at Mölnlycke we invest in watercoolers from AquAid. Our unique relationship with AquAid and our decision to install water coolers from AquAid means that for each machine we have, we have donated £20 per year, per cooler to The Africa Trust. Through our contributions to The Africa Trust an ‘Elephant Pump’ has been installed in Africa in our behalf. This pump will bring much needed clean, fresh drinking water and improve the quality of life of those who will have access to our well.
Mölnlycke Health Care also participates in a giving something back scheme which provides sponsorship for employee nominated charitable donations for either local community, team events of volunteering work. Our chosen charities of 2015 were:
