Mepitel with Safetac protects the wound and the skin. It prevents an outer dressing from sticking to the wound, thereby minimising trauma and pain. Mepitel is designed and clinically proven for use in treating a wide range of wounds such as skin tears, skin abrasions, surgical incisions, second degree burns, blistering, lacerations, partial and full thickness grafts, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers. Use together with e.g. Mesorb® or for high exuding wounds with Mextra® Superabsorbent, and with Tubifast® fixation.
Mepitel is indicated for use in conjunction with Avance® or other NPWT systems. Mepitel can be utilised to protect exposed organs, large veins and arteries, tendons, bones or nerves from the risk of dressing adherence and tissue ingrowth during treatment with NPWT.
14 days of undisturbed cost-effective healing
Mepitel can be left in place for up to 14 days in order to not stress the wound or newly healed tissue. It will stay in place and not dry out (drying out can cause trauma and pain). The wound can be inspected at any time thanks to Mepitel's transparency. Mepitel promotes undisturbed wound healing as well as a cost-effective treatment.
When Mepitel is used in conjunction with the Avance NPWT system it should be changed every 48 to 72 hours, but no less than 3 times a week or as instructed by the clinician. When Mepitel is used in conjunction with other NPWT systems, follow the clinician's recommendation regarding frequency of change.
