Mölnlycke Health Care has chosen ‘Leading the way in innovation and evidence’ as the theme for this year’s EWMA conference in Madrid. This theme will also frame our sponsored symposium, “Influencing cost effective wound care”. Our expert speakers at this symposium will evaluate the processes that lead to wound care purchasing decisions and will provide a knowledge platform to ensure that quality of life and quality of care issues as well as cost are key factors in the decision making processes.
Martin Jordan will chair the symposium and also discuss the need to shift the cost containment focus from unit cost to a more holistic total cost of care approach. Mr. Paulo Alves will present case studies that demonstrate how different choices in care programmes can lead to different outcomes. Professor Nick Santamaria will review the evidence that shows that pressure ulcer prevention is more cost effective that pressure ulcer treatment. Dr. J.L. Lázaro will examine different ways in which costs can be reduced while properly addressing quality of life issues.
This Mölnlycke Health Care symposium will provide insights and information that is both timely and relevant to all types of wound care departments – especially given the dual pressures of constant cost reduction and the need to increase the overall level of individual patient care.
The symposium is scheduled to take place on Thursday 15th May from 13:15 in room N103.
We look forward to seeing you at the EWMA 2014 congress.
