16 percent 20 percent

Surgical Site Infections (SSIs) are a problem of increasing concern with major implications for both patients and the NHS.

Between 2014 – 2019 SSIs, as a percentage of all healthcare associated infections, jumped from 16%   to 20%  . It is a growing problem, in need of a solution.

Mölnlycke has developed a unique and powerful solution that means we: don’t just get ahead of SSIs but stop them from catching up. The Risk Reduction Partnership is a new initiative that has been specifically designed to combat the problem and potentially help reduce its incidence and impact.

three steps
Three main phases

The comprehensive program of SSI prevention has touchpoints across the full patient pathway. It’s a new and holistic multidisciplinary initiative, that supports healthcare providers to enhance their preparedness, remain vigilant and stay ahead of SSIs through an approach comprising three main phases:

  1. Taking stock: The critical first step in the process, taking stock gives you, in partnership with us, the opportunity to review SSI prevention protocols from the ground up
  2. Getting ahead: With a full understanding of its SSI prevention protocols, Mölnlycke’s dedicated team will work closely with hospitals to act on the findings and enhance existing procedures.
  3. Staying ahead: The third phase in the RRP is designed to capitalise on newly implemented ways of working and maintain vigilance through regular check-ins, reviews and updates.
