Patient Positioning For Pressure Ulcer Prevention
Mölnlycke Z-Flo Fluidised Positioner is designed to provide patient positioning, pressure redistribution and/or to offload anatomical sites, which may be used as part of a prophylactic therapy to help prevent pressure ulcers.
Mölnlycke Z-Flo is a versatile product with multiple uses that allows you to mould it to fit the patient’s anatomy for pressure redistribution. You can tailor it to individual positioning needs and it will maintain the desired position over time. In addition, the fluidised positioner lets the clinician dictate the degree of turn, ranging from a small micro turn all the way up to large-degree turns.
One study sought to compare using Mölnlycke Z-Flo Fluidised positioner with the use of pillows. Results showed a statistically significant difference between the two positioning devices’ ability to maintain a turn over time, with fluidised positioners ensuring patient position more effectively - with a movement of 3.9o after 2 hours compared to 10.1o of patient movement with pillows.
